Barbarian Axe is the first game of XP Arena.
It's a hardcore, single-player RPG set in a dark, medieval fantasy world. The game features fast-paced hack-and-slash combat, exploration, and a unique risk/reward system where players lose experience points upon death.
Synopsis:
The Barbarian Ragnar is going to fight as a mercenary in a bloody war on the north. On the way he finds a village and the inhabitants explain they are going through a macabre situation. A wizard with the power to create new species is taking people and mixing them with animals and other beings, creating grotesque hybrid creatures that are increasingly powerful and horrendous. Monsters of all kinds surround the village and the desperate inhabitants offer what they have to the barbarian to bring back their people. At least those who are still humans.
